Jonathan Senner DC Showhouse
For this year’s DC Design House, interior designer Jonathan Senner created a dining room that balanced the home’s classic bones with modern design, rich color and French flair. “The classical architecture and details of the dining room, along with a tour I once took of Napoleon III’s apartments in the Louvre, inspired me to do an eclectic space with strong influences from several periods of French décor,” the designer noted. The space has a sophisticated palette of greens, blacks, golds and creams. Lady Elsie, a cotton velvet in Evergreen, and Elistano, a cowhide in Honey, were chosen for the dining room chairs. The floor-to-ceiling draperies are Mulberry Silk in Forest and are trimmed in Greek Key Braid in Billiard Green. Touches of animal print are found on a bench upholstered in Mustafa in Ebony and Cheetah Velvet for the throw pillows in Black and White.
